On 17th March, 2011, the inauguration ceremony of the launch of the student chapter of IET, UK was held at B.P.Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Kolkata. The Institution of Engineering and Technology, Uk, a global community of the erudite and the enthusiasts was conceived through an amalgamation of The Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the IIE (Institution of corporate engineers) in 2006, with a mission to connect together a network of creativity, innovation and expertise in the fields of learning and teaching and use this collective power to change the face of education.
The occasion was honoured by the gracious presence of Dr. Sutapa Mukherjee, Principal, BPPIMT, Prof. B.N.Chatterjee, the Dean of Academic affairs, Prof. Pramathes Das, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Shri A.K.Saha, honorable Chairman IET-UK Kolkata LN, Shri Rajarshi Ghosh, Honorary Secretary, IET, UK, Kolkata LN and few other dignitaries who enlightened the inquisitive minds with their inspiring thoughts and ideas.
